Théâtre de l’Opprimé

Created in Paris in 1979 by Augusto Boal and directed by Rui Frati since 1998, the “Théâtre de l’Opprimé” is at the same time a method, a company, and a performance space that is geared toward contemporary creations located in Paris. The company, composed of around ten theatre professionals anxious to defend their place as artistic citizens, creates a performance by a contemporary author every season, preferring forms that unite theatre and music. The company also conceives of many different forum theatre creations, workshops, and training in different structures, including: remand centers, schools and universities, social centers, companies, etc…

Role:

The « Théâtre de l’Opprimé » is responsible for the general coordination of the project, and is in charge of monitoring the budget and the financing allocated by the National agency from the preparatory stage until the conclusion of the project. They verify that the timing of the project is respected (Gantt chart) and remind all partners of their fixed due dates to insure that the project continues as planned. They guarantee communication with the National Agency and coordinate the procedure of communication between partners. They will also produce the budgetary balance sheet at the conclusion of the project, and lastly they will write up the intermediary and the final report, both of which must be submitted to the National Agency.

Carte Blanche

The association « Carte Blanche » was created in 1987 to promote social and cultural activities. The association also created la Compagnia Della Fortezza, the most famous Italian company of convict actors that spearheads the international festival of Volterra Teatro; a multidisciplinary festival (theatre, music, arts, dance, video, performances, poetry, and culture), created in 1987 that takes place every year in Volterra and other cities in la Val di Cecina.

Role:

Carte Blanche lends its more than ten years of experience in the production of theatre festivals to the project, as much as an artistic perspective as administrative and technical perspectives. The experience acquired by Carte Blanche in the management of “Volterra Teatro” is significant in the context of the project: “Volterra Teatro” is a model of a festival spread out over many diverse locales that values professional skills, participation by locals, and inclusion of young people. The Festival “Volterra Teatro” is the object that will be observed for their festival practices (research phase of the project) during the summer of 2015.

Frati Ribeiro

Frati Ribeiro is the company that will be in charge of the production and management of cultural events. Created in Madère the company’s objective is the reinvigoration of cultural heritage, most importantly in the commune of Ponta do Sol, and the artistic training managed in young locales. New technologies, interactive theatre, contemporary music… are proposed to local artists, with the objective of favoring exchanges among different creators.

Role:

In preparation of the creation in Madère of the first multidisciplinary European festival in 2016 the FR team will participate in the project in all that concerns the organization of an arts festival: administration, technique, communication/press relations, by experimenting in Ponta do Sol the use of TIC in multidisciplinary creations. During the Festival of Madère the operational models of good practices in the creation of arts festivals will be tested anew and validated after the festivals “Volterra Teatro” and “MigrActions”.

Kubik Fabrik

LAZONAKUBIK is a cultural management project that was created in 2010 in the popular neighborhood of Usera, Madrid, Spain. It’s a private project identifiable by the new theatrical, dance, and circus trends. As a sort of “creation factory” this project intends to help artists and companies accomplish their creative goals: and along the way offers a space of discovery among professionals.

Role:

Kubik Fabrik is the technology partner of the project. He is responsible for the preparation, management, and updating of the open source ICT platform that will facilitate the communication between partners, the diffusion of observations and results of the research, and the categorization and loading of the contents of e-learning, in order to have better visibility of the output terminals. He will participate in the project not only by bringing his own experience in the creation of websites, but also his expertise in marketing, to assure a maximum visibility of the obtained results by using the most recent and innovative technological solutions.

Parodi & Partners SPRL

Founded in Brussels in 2001, Parodi & Partners is an independent consulting company created to respond to the needs of local and regional collectives, public and private companies that deal in the politics and programs of Europe. During its 15 years of activity, Parodi & Partners collected its European expertise in several different domains: education and training for life, culture and innovation, and the development of strategic partnerships.

Role:

Parodi & Partners SPRL is the partner responsible for the distribution and promotion of the project. They assure external communication, notably with European stakeholders, reference associations for the arts festivals, local public authorities and European organizations that represent the volunteers. They centralize the planned events for the validation of the intellectual results of the project.

Université Lumière Lyon 2

L’Université Lumière Lyon 2 est un établissement public à caractère scientifique, culturel et professionnel. Le contrat quinquennal 2011-2015 lui assigne notamment les missions de développer une politique de recherche internationale et innovante, en se positionnant comme un moteur de la recherche en sciences humaines et sociales, avec un souci d’ouverture sur les milieux économiques et sociaux, et de proposer une politique de formation axée vers la réussite et l’insertion des étudiants, le développement de la visibilité internationale et le renforcement des liens de coopération sur le site Lyon / Saint-Etienne.

Role:

Responsable de la recherche sur les bonnes pratiques et les compétences des opérateurs des festivals, il réunit et analyse les observations sur le terrain suite aux expériences des Festivals des deux partenaires artistiques Théâtre de l’Opprimé et Carte Blanche et celles collectées à travers les stakeholders européens. Il fournit le rapport final d’analyse des pratiques et des compétences nécessaires pour la réalisation de festivals artistiques. En tant qu’institut supérieur de formations et de recherche, il sera le référent spécifique pour les contacts avec les instituts de formations et les universités au niveau européen.
